The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is a public medical school in Charleston, South Carolina. It was founded in 1824 and is the oldest medical school in the southern United States. MUSC is a tertiary care academic medical center that provides care for patients from across South Carolina and beyond. The university has six colleges: Dental Medicine, Graduate Studies, Health Professions, Medicine, Nursing, and Pharmacy. MUSC is also home to the Hollings Cancer Center, which is a National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center.
